On Monday, January 14, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures updated their fans with the release dates of their upcoming films. The list includes dates for “The Muppets 2,” “Captain America 2,” “Maleficent,” and more.
“The Muppets 2” is scheduled for a March 21, 2014, release. So far, the film is set to star Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey, and Ty Burrell. It will be directed by James Bobin.
Captain Jack Sparrow is returning in “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” on July 10, 2015. Johnny Depp is the only one listed to star in the film, Depp will be reprising his role as the infamous Jack Sparrow.
Not joining Sparrow in the ocean will be Ariel, as the 3D re-release of “The Little Mermaid” on September 13, 2013, has been cancelled.
Angelina Jolie’s “Maleficent” will be arriving to theaters July 2, 2014. Costarring with Jolie are Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Sharlto Copley, and Juno Temple. It will be directed by Robert Stromberg.
“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is still lined up for April 4, 2014. The superhero sequel will also be available in 3D.
Also in 3D, will be “Guardians of the Galaxy,” which will hit theaters on August 1, 2014. It was previously announced that the film will begin filming this summer.
