Juan Carlos Garcia has clarified the release date in regards to "Super Smash Bros 4" for 3DS. According to a report from Nintendo Life on May 19, the director of Official Nintendo Magazine in Spain stated that the Sept. window listed in a recent issue of the publication was just an estimation. Instead, he stated that the launch is still set for sometime later this summer.

In addition to the 3DS version, Nintendo also previously announced that "Super Smash Bros 4" for Wii U is due for a winter launch later this year. According to Game and Guide, the more specific release time frames could be disclosed at E3 2014. The publisher is going to hold a conference just for the video game at the gaming convention. At the same time, a competitive tournament for the console iteration will be held at a theater while demo stations are going to be set up at select Best Buy stores.

The aforesaid conference is going to end up being 90-minutes long, which should result in plenty of new details for both versions of the crossover fighting game. Only 29 characters have been announced so far, which is 10 less when compared to the cast from "Super Smash Bros Brawl." You can find a screen featuring one of the fighters, the returning Yoshi, from the official Facebook page of the series with the photo near the top of this article. Nintendo could also reveal more of the multiplayer features.

Aside from the visual differences, "Super Smash Bros 4" for 3DS and Wii U also features different modes, such as the Smash Run multiplayer battle in the handheld game, as well as exclusive stages. Furthermore, not all trophy and pocket monster summons will be appearing in both iterations. The E3 2014 conference is going to begin on June 10, the first day in which the show floor is opened to attendees, in Los Angeles.
