The Relay for Life Tamarac/North Lauderdale will participate in several events throughout the city of Tamarac on Saturday, February 23rd, according to event chair, Julie Fishman.
Participation in the events will help the Relay for Life Tamarac/North Lauderdale fundraise and raise awareness for the American Cancer Society event scheduled for May 17th and 18th at Millennium Middle School in Tamarac.
The Tamarac Chamber of Commerce Family Preventative Health & Wellness Expo will be held from 9am until noon at the Tamarac Community Center, 8601 W. Commercial Blvd. Volunteers manning the Relay for Life table will be passing out information on the event, taking donations and selling raffle tickets. Among the prizes to be raffled are a one-hour massage from Soothing Oasis Massage and a $25 dollar gift certificate from Ferro’s Pizza.
The City of Tamarac’s garage sale will be held from 7am until noon at theTamarac Recreation Center, located at 7531 North University Dr. Volunteers will be selling Relay for Life items, taking donations and spreading the word about the American Cancer Society event.
“Our goal in being at both events, is to let as many people in our community know about the Relay for Life Tamarac/North Lauderdale being held on May 17th and 18th,” Event Chair Julie Fishman told Examiner. "We are a small but dedicated group of volunteers and we are working together with the cities of Tamarac and North Lauderdale to help create a world with more birthdays.”
