Relax and celebrate Valentine’s Day with a couple's massage

Valentine’s Day is just ten days away; yet still plenty of time to plan that romantic outing for two. This year, celebrate cupid’s holiday on a date at the spa and enjoy a relaxing couple’s massage together.

Not just for special occasions, although a couple’s massage is a great treat for Valentine’s Day or anniversaries, it can also be a terrific alternative away from the usual dinner and a movie date night, where the two of you can relax and forget the residue of the day.

Many spas and day spas are offering couple’s massage this Valentine’s Day if the space can be accommodated. If it isn’t listed on the menu at a favorite locale, just ask. Most proprietors will be happy to oblige as long as they employ more than one masseuse/masseur. Look for a clean and friendly environment with licensed massage therapists who will provide a detailed health questionnaire to be completed prior to the massage and focus on problem areas.

A couple’s massage should not be confused with a sensual massage between a pair, which is just as enjoyable, however not performed in reputable spas. It is a wonderful opportunity to soothe aching muscles and relax from a hectic week while spending quiet, quality time together on Valentine’s Day.

The couple’s massage is performed in a dimly lit room with side-by-side heated beds resonating peaceful sounds and fragrant aromas that calm the senses. Couples will be asked to change into terrycloth robes in a changing room then disrobe privately while waiting under blankets or towels on the warm spa bed. Separate massage therapists simultaneously massage each individual finishing simultaneously. The couples are advised to slowly rise from the table, replenish the muscles with water and leisurely redress, making for a special Valentine’s Day celebration.

27 OM Spa in Oceanside, NY offers an invigorating couple’s spa package including a massage, facial, manicure and pedicure. Gurney’s Inn, Resort, Spa and Conference Center located on the beautiful beaches of Montauk, Long Island will provide a couple’s massage in their world famous Sea Water Spa. And the newly opened Elements Therapeutic Massage in Rockville Centre is offering a Valentine’s Day special on massages.

Relax and enjoy a couple’s massage this Valentine’s Day.
