It's a speed-dating party, so party.
Relationships 101: Where are Speed Dating Services in St. Louis?
In the past, the idea of speed dating was seen as something frequented by social rejects; women who cling too tightly looking to fall in love and guys with unibrows and no sense of style.
However, as our lives become filled with more “things” and we have less personal time the social stigma of speed dating is slowly fading.
Speed-dating is a good way for singles to meet prospective dates and can also be a cool networking tool for young professionals in a new city. If you are a little hesitant to put yourself out there, Skype and Skyecandy offers users “FAST, FUN and FREE speed dating” via a web cam. All you really need is to freshen up from the neck up, get a comfy chair and chat it up. The great thing about the digital dating world is that potential daters are able to see what the opposite sex looks like and carry a conversation without an uncomfortable first date. If there’s chemistry then you can meet in person, if no attraction exists just hit the escape key and move on.
If you thrive on the physical interaction and are ready to jump right into the speed dating scene, Date and Dash offers some fun speed-dating parties in major cities geared toward young, attractive and successful singles. The next one in St. Louis is coming up soon, Tuesday September 22 at Absoluti Goosed on S. Grand to be exact; so ladies dust off your LBD and guys come ready to meet some Single Ladies. You can register for the speed dating event on the Date and Dash website.
Here are a few steps to making the most of a speed-dating event:
• Arrive early to give yourself time to relax, find the restrooms, check your hair and feel more comfortable in your surroundings.
• Think positively & have fun. Remember that the event is a party so go and have fun; if you meet a really cool person, if not enjoy the atmosphere and the six time winner of the Riverfront Times “Best Martini”.
• Flirt. It lets your date know that you find them attractive and flirting allows you communicate and connect on a very personal level.

SkyeCandy...Tried it and i have to say i like it and the thought of it. But it ias several downfalls that are enough to make one cry (lol). First and foremost is that this has to be way too new. I logged on and was ready for my first 6min date only to find out i was the only person in my area so it couldnt match me locally ^#@$!. 2nd which only made me more annoyed the male to female ration was 6:1. 6 being 6 guys for every 1 girl...(LoL). With those odds im better off doing what I hate more than anything else in the world, and go to a club or bar, where the ratio was half that. I was patient and tried though, 1 six minute wait, 2 then 3 then 4. All in all im sure this would work for me if others would just catch up with the times. Anyway Ive registered for the local in person speed dating event this Tuesday and now im off to shop for some new threads. - Al B. aka KidFlawless
