Rejecting God's absolutes is the problem

As our social fabric continues to unravel, the shifting standards of moral absolutes grounded in Biblical standard is being assaulted on numerous fronts.

Tactics against absolutes have not changed since the Garden of Eden when the serpent said, “Hath God said?”, or more conventioinally, “Did God really say or mean that?” Doubt and questioning can easily be used to undermine anything.http://www.gotquestions.org/moral-absolutism.html

Many of our civil and moral laws are established from Judeo-Christian values lifted from the Torah and Bible. This fact still pains those who subscribe to more secular views and these same individuals are revising standards and history to diminish the moral absolutes that our founding fathers mainly used to establish our culture.http://atheism.about.com/b/2009/08/03/liberalizing-christianity-is-liberal-christianity-still-christianity.htm

These human secularists, agnostics, and atheists are using revisionism and have been working tirelessly to incorporate a philosophy that allows a liberal stretch of any moral absolutes that are based on any religious standard. Tinkering with word meanings as marriage is a favorite approach so standards can be loosened and definitions expanded. The liberalization of our foundational standards is slowly erasing our definitions on many things.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revisionism

Indoctrinating younger generations to the concept of no moral absolutes is paying dividends towards the expansion of what is called progressive thought. Progressive thought implies improvements, however the opposite has been taking place. This revisionism is changing the foundational values of the Christian churches.

Thou shall not murder

Substitute murder for pro-choice, and you have a convenient definition that encourages the shedding of innocent blood, and regardless of the semantically inspired word gymnastics practiced by those pretending that rights are for anyone or anything except who is in the womb, the rights of the unborn have yet to be addressed.

Reclassify what is in the womb as being “non-human”….that strategy has been used before to justify atrocities, has it not?

Thou shall not steal

Pilfering what doesn’t belong to you is being repackaged to exclude downloading copy righted material. Most with computing savvy do not believe this infringement falls into the category of stealing.

Ah yes, that moral relativism…it’s not stealing if one doesn’t think so, right? It’s like the word embezzlement; that isn’t stealing either.

Thou shall not covet

“Keeping up with the Joneses” is another sin that is camouflaged as competition. Emulation is a serious pride issue where one has to outdo anyone on anything. Envy and jealousy are the cousins of this destructive sin which drives coveting of people or possessions. This spirit destroys individuals or relationships too.

Thou shall not commit adultery

Faithfulness in marriage is not optional, however you would assume it is based on performance of those entering wedlock. Not only are vows quickly forgotten, but an expanded definition of marriage is being revised from the traditional one man and one woman union.

Holy matrimony is clearly between a male and female according to Biblical values, however the revisionists that are attempting to reinvent marriage standards are challenging what God ordained. Expanding the marriage definition in the church is an example of liberalism going to the extreme.

Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor

Lying, falsehoods, or exaggerating have become an art form as long as one accomplishes what is desired. Going by any standard of self truth instead of what is right by God’s moral standard has created confusion and an ongoing lowering of performance standards.

Truth is relative and anyone can spin reality to fit their own opinion. That’s the problem with moral relativism…there is no such thing as right or wrong. A lie isn’t really a lie, it’s just a difference of personal preferences.

Anyone can spin reality to fit their own opinion.
