Reitz still on top of Week 2 GridironDigest.com poll; 12 other local teams honored

There was a change at the top in Class 5A, but the other four classes' No. 1s stayed the same in the Week 2 Indiana Gridiron Digest poll, which is voted on by media members, fans and coaches from throughout the state. The other four No. 1s stayed the same -- Evansville Reitz (4A), Indianapolis Chatard (3A), Fort Wayne Luers (2A) and Lafayette Central Catholic (1A) in their respective classes. Luers and LCC were both unanimous No. 1 selections.

Carmel, fresh off a victory over Huntington North, moved into the No. 1 spot in a close Class 5A race, while Center Grove slid up to No. 2 after a 16-8 victory over Pike, and previous No. 1 Warren Central dropped to No. 3 after a close 28-21 loss to Ohio power Cleveland Glenville. Hamilton Southeastern also had a big win over Fishers, and moved up to No. 4. There was a lot of movement, as Ben Davis moved into the top five after a 14-10 win over Penn at Lucas Oil Stadium, while Columbus North came in next after a win over Columbus East. Mishawaka and Valparaiso were poll newcomers.
