More exciting news from the Kentucky Horse Park as they announce the International Reining and World Championship Freestyle competition will be held during the 2011 Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event this April 28 - May 1, 2011.
Given the success and popularity of the Reining competitions during the 2010 World Equestrian Games at the Kentucky Horse Park this last Fall, John Long, CEO of the USEF, says, “the chance to see the highest level of Eventing and Reining is sure to draw even more people to Kentucky and add to the excitement of what is already one of the world’s premier equestrian events.”
The World Championship Freestyle will be the first time the title of “World Champion” will be crowned in Freestyle Reining. Always a crowd favorite, this Western-style equestrian discipline allows the rider to create their own patterns of circles, sliding stops, rollbacks and spins set to music.
The “World Champion” will also be awarded $25,000 in prize money, the largest purse for a Reining Freestyle in the world.
