“Sacrifice” is tonight’s episode of “Reign.” To refresh your memory on what happened last time, click here. “Reign” airs Thursday nights at 8 on the CW. Here’s the latest gossip at the castle:
Bash the Lord Regent
King Henry is in Rome, and so he puts Bash in charge. Bash is not that excited about listening to the complaints of the people. He’s also not excited about the death attempt. It’s a hard life for Bash. As if the attempt on his life wasn’t enough, his cousin Isabel is accused of thievery. Isabel and Bash have a complicated family tie, but they are family. Isabel’s father was a traitor, and if Isabel is tortured, her tie to Bash would come out. Francis never seemed to have this many problems. It's a good thing Bash has a bodyguard, although Alec may or may not be dying from poison.
Taking on the Queen
While Mary is away, the ladies are in charge of keeping Catherine isolated. Kenna, Greer and Lola are also tasked with providing evidence that Catherine was behind the attack on Bash’s life. Catherine has her fun traumatizing and heckling the girls. Surprisingly, Lola steps up and puts Catherine in her place. Not only that, but she masterminds a scheme. Lola uses Kenna to get a rise out of Catherine, and then has Greer forge letters. Apparently, Greer has a knack for forgery, and has gotten quite good at Catherine’s handwriting. The ladies are devious, and isn’t it fantastic?
The Pagan Truth
Mary learns of Bash’s pagan ties. While caring for an about to give birth Isabel in the Blood Woods at night, the blood cult surrounds the tent. Seeing as how Mary was previously attacked by pagans, she obviously voices her concerns and strong fears, and she gets a little bit on the hysterical side. And it doesn’t help that there is chanting happening and a horse being slaughtered outside the tent. Anyone would be freaking out, and saying not so nice things about pagans, those inside and outside of the tent. Bash explains to her that there are pagans and then there is the crazy, violent sect of pagans known as the blood cult.
Wherefore Art Thou Francis?
Where is our lovely Francis? He left the castle to go do something. Odds are, he’s trying to forget that he lost Mary to Bash all because of a prophecy. This means, we had to endure a Bash and Mary kiss without a creeper Francis looking on. Oh, the horror.
Catherine: “So the three of you came to buck each other up because I’m so frightening or did you all want to see me brought so low?”
Bash: “My duty will never be to some country, some land, some throne. If I’m married to you, you’ll be my family.”
Catherine: “Spoken words aren’t evidence. They vanish like smoke in the wind as soon as their spoken.”
