In addition to finding old friends, Facebook offers many other perks! Numerous businesses have what are called Fan pages, and these businesses frequently post coupons, sales promotions, and other incentives on their Facebook pages.
For example, in the recent examiner.com article Facebook Users Try Kango for Free this Friday!, we learned that you can gain free access to Rochester's new Kango Play Center tomorrow by using your Facebook page (see offer details and read about the new Kango indoor place center).
Don't have a Facebook account? No worries! It doesn't take long to create an account, and you don't have to create it all at once; you can come back to your account later to finish.
Once you have an account, you can search for people and business Fan pages via Facebook's search tool; it only searches Facebook and not the entire Internet. Once you become a Fan of a business, you will see all of their status changes and updates.
For instance, in addition to the Kango deal above, right now you will find:
- The Rugged Bear's Fan page was recently updated to ensure that consumers know that all of their winter kids' clothing is on sale buy one, get one free; the Rugged Bear has a store in Pittsford Plaza.
- Build-A-Bear Workshop, locally in Eastview Mall, currently has a 'free sound with Dalmation stuffed animal coupon' on their Facebook Fan page.
