Time is running out to register for Tails on the Trails Dog Walk and Festival, the annual event to benefit Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue, Inc. (TOTTSHR). The event date is September 28, 2013. Now in its 11th year, it’s a fun day for all types of dogs to participate with their families and friends.
The event will take place at Warminster Community Park in Pennsylvania. Find directions here.
“The event is open to anyone who would like to participate," said Lee Wlodarczyk, event chairperson, in the group’s recent press release. "Dog walkers will be offered the choice of two hike distances – one longer and the other shorter – both on well-marked paved trails through the park. We will have all our foster dogs that are available for adoption at the hike, so if anyone does not have a dog to walk, we will be happy to lend you one!"
The festival promises something for everyone. The hike will be followed by a picnic lunch, games and activities for the children, as well as a celebration for the ACK Responsible Dog Ownership Day. Visit with the vendors and shop for clothing, jewelry, pet supplies and more. Don’t miss the silent auction or the Canine Good Citizen test for the dogs.
You can register online or in person the day of the event. You can even register as a remote hiker and still qualify for one of the top three prizes. Just remember, your pledge form and collected money must be postmarked by September 21, 2013.
