The back to school rush is over and fall is on the way. It's time to register your child for fall arts and athletics at your local parks and recreation department.
If your child loves dinosaurs, check out Dino-Mites for ages 5 to 7 or Dinophiles for ages 8 to 12 at Nature Zone. Both groups begin meeting in October.

Youth open gyms are currently being held at all three middle schools. Ages 6 to 14 can play basketball on Tuesdays from 7-8 p.m. at Dunbar Middle School, followed by ages 15 to 18 from 8-9 p.m.
Linkhorne Middle School open gym is for ages 6 to 18 on Sundays from 3-5 p.m. Sandusky Middle School hosts open gym for ages 6 to 18 on Saturdays from 3-5 p.m.
Your child can also learn how to make pottery, speak Spanish, photograph birds, create jewelry or play Ultimate, a cross between football and frisbee, at Lynchburg's neighborhood centers.

September classes are already underway at Tomahawk Elementary School and begin this week at Rustburg Middle School.

Registration is underway for Twinkle Toes Dance Academy, held at Rustburg Middle School on Mondays. Classes begin on Oct. 7 for ages 4 and up.
Choose from Creative Movement for ages 4 to 6, Beginning Ballet for ages 6 and up or Hip-Hop for ages 8 and up. All classes will be held at Rustburg Middle School.
Registration for Campbell County Youth Basketball begins Sept. 23 at the office in Rustburg. There will also be off-site registration in October at Concord Elementary School and Brookneal Elementary School.
Youth art classes begin on Sept. 16 at Brookville Middle School for ages 5 and up. Classes will be held on Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 for ages 5 to 9, followed by classes for ages 10 and up from 7-8 p.m.
