According to NLF.com on Jan. 28, Reggie Bush is unlikely to return to the Miami Dolphins for the 2013 season. According to the site, the Dolphins are not likely to offer the star running back a new contract.
Bush was a Heisman Trophy winning running back for the USC Trojans and entered the NFL with a lot of promise. However, the fact that his relationship with Kim Kardashian overshadowed his playing career with the New Orleans Saints speaks volumes for the disappointing start to his career.
In his first five seasons with the Saints, Bush topped out at 581 yards rushing in his second season and never ran for more than six touchdowns. In his last season in New Orleans, Bush only started six games and finished with 150 yards and no touchdowns on the ground. The Saints brought in Darren Sproles and Bush was shown the door.
In his first season with Miami, Bush finally fulfilled the promise his fans hoped to see. He ran for 1,086 yards and caught 43 passes for another 296 yards. He finished that season with nine touchdowns. In 2012, he missed the 1,000 yard rushing mark, but still finished with 986 yards and six touchdowns on the ground and 296 yards and two touchdowns through the air.
Bush said he was ready to return for "unfinished business."
Instead of Reggie Bush, the Miami Dolphins seem to want to run with Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas in 2013. Bush won't stay unemployed for long, as another running back needy team will surely make room for him.
