Reggae On The River celebrates its 30th year July 31, August 1-3, 2014. This major milestone is a "testament to the enduring spirit of this music and the community who has supported it. Recognized as one of the most iconic festivals of its kind, bands and fans from the far corners of Earth will again converge at French’s Camp [in Humboldt County, CA] ... to celebrate the 30th anniversary of this beloved event."
This year will be a "special 30th edition of Reggae On The River" and will offer one for the history books with a "weekend of camping, community, irie vibes, and a mind-bending mix of reggae and world music on the banks of the majestic Eel."
"The massive 30th anniversary line-up includes foundational artists such as Jimmy Cliff, Alpha Blondy, Third World, Israel Vibration, Mykal Rose, Sly & Robbie, and Mutabaruka alongside some of the hottest and freshest names in reggae- Gentleman, Gyptian, Iration, Etana, Bitty McClean, Jah9, Megah Banton, Iba Mahr, Marlon Asher and Meta & The Cornerstones. Couple that with genre smashing acts like Fishbone, SEE-I, Jahdan Blakkamoore, GAUDI, Indubious and the Courtney John Project; the diverse global flavors of Abya Yala, Zili Misik, Majic and Los Rakas; and the Cali roots of Thicker Than Thieves, Ishi Dube, Jade Steel, and John Trudell & Bad Dog- and you get a taste of what’s to come. And let’s not forget reggae historian, Roger Steffens, top local and regional DJs/sound systems, over 60 craft and food vendors, an outlandish KidLandia, and a variety of recreational activities on the river" brings together everything you’ll need for one of the best times ever!
