Temperatures in the Charleston area have finally dropped down to the low 70’s. The cooler temperatures have fashionistas planning shopping expeditions. Before you head out to the local boutiques, cast a critical eye on your closet. This is a good time to get rid of the weeds, that take-up space in your closet. Get rid of damaged, stained, unflattering, and ill-fitting items. Don’t overlook those items hiding in the back of your closet, waiting for the off day when you might possibly wear them. Then separate spring/summer only items and store them in the back of the closet.
You are left with fall/winter recyclable pieces. Determine what works together. What do you need to add? The goal is to have a ‘capsule wardrobe’ – ten interchangeable pieces. A capsule wardrobe is built on a basic (jacket, skirt or pants) in your most flattering fall color. This capsule wardrobe will go to the office, a dressy party or a casual weekend. You will be able to mix and match to create a great look for any occasion.
