Even though many recruiters advise against it, hiring managers still ask the strength and weakness question during interviews. Regardless of whether or not you will ever have to answer that question in an interview, you should still know the answers.
In order to truly be the best that you can be personally and professionally, you have to understand and be honest with yourself. You have to reflect. Reflection can mean many things but doing it will help you become more successful.
Self-reflection will help you understand what you are great at and will allow you to think about how to enhance those things. It will also make you face your greatest weaknesses, which will push you to improve upon them.
Reflection is not just about you, though. It is also about ideas, creativity, and changes in life or in business. Through reflection, many great leaders and entrepreneurs have discovered their most successful businesses.
One of the best ways to engage in true reflection is by writing or journaling. It may feel teenager-like at first, but journaling can be a great tool to identify what’s going right and what’s going wrong in life and in work. This type of reflection allows you to learn through your experiences.
After a while, journaling and reflecting will become second nature. It’ll open up your mind and make you a more diverse and understanding person as well. Reflection is often a major key to success.
