Reeva Steenkamp’s family held a funeral for the late model in South Africa on Tuesday, MSNBC reported on Feb. 19.
According to the report, Reeva, who was tragically murdered by her boyfriend, Olympic blade runner Oscar Pistorius, was laid to rest in Port Elizabeth.
Reeva Steenkamp’s family spoke fondly of the model/law student during the funeral, and thanks all the supporters who have been reaching out to them in the days following Reeva’s tragic death.
Meanwhile, Steenkamp’s killer, Oscar Pistorius, has admitted to shooting his girlfriend, but claims he thought she was an intruder.
“Everyone is sad understandably, but at certain points we were smiling whilst remembering Reeva because we only have good memories of her,” a member of Reeva Steenkamp’s family told the press after her funeral.
Later, Steenkamp’s uncle, revealed his thoughts on Oscar Pistorius. "He's a danger to the public. He'll be a danger to witnesses. He must stay in jail. He's already shown how dangerous he can be for what he did to Reeva.”
