ReelWorld Film Festival is an annual film festival held in Toronto and it’s dedicated to cultural diversity. The festival was founded by Canadian actress Tonya Lee Williams in 2001 and took place in Toronto ever since. This year, ReelWorld Film Festival is at its 13th issue.
Every year, the festival announces a press conference one month before its start. This year’s Reel World Film Festival press conference will take place on Wednesday, March 20th, at Famous Players Canada Square (2190 Yonge Street, Yonge & Eglinton, Toronto). Media from all Toronto are invited.
This year’s festival features a stellar slate of features, documentaries, shorts, music videos, industry panels and more. Actress and founder Tonya Lee Williams along with ReelWorld programmers, filmmakers, and artists are expected to be in attendance and available for interviews directly following the sneak peek of this year’s films. The complete ReelWorld Festival 2013 schedule will be distributed.
The 13th ReelWorld Film Festival offers world-class cinema – dramas, documentaries, shorts and music videos – along with professional development opportunities for filmmakers and individuals interested in expanding their careers in Canada’s film and television industry. The festival celebrates and promotes racial and cultural diversity both in front of and behind the camera. In addition to the five-day festival, ReelWorld hosts the Indie Film Lounge (an independent film festival) that takes place in Toronto every year in September. Key sponsors of ReelWorld Film Festival include big names like TD Bank, Telefilm Canada, Ontario Trillium Foundation, NBC Universal, Global Toronto, Wired Messenger, Pierre Laurent, DJ Woods, City Television and Cineplex Entertainment. This year’s ReelWorld Film Festival runs from April 10th to 14th, 2013.
The press event from March 20th 2013 will start at 10am with signing in and brunch, and will continue with the press conference at 10.30am. Journalists who would like to attend the press conference and the festival itself are asked to accredit at www.reelworld.ca or by phoning Sasha Stoltz at 416-579-4804.
