The historic Tivoli Theaters on the Delmar Loop begins its next cycle of midnight movies this Friday and Saturday, September 5 and 6. It’s all part of Reel Late at the Tivoli, and the lineup, which runs from this weekend through the end of October, includes many cult favorites.

This weekend’s movie is “Purple Rain”, the 1984 music drama starring Prince as a young musician struggling to succeed in his life and career. Other highlights include the comedy classic “Young Frankenstein”, the Miyazaki anime “Princess Mononoke”, and the cult favorite “The Room”. It all culminates in the last two weekends in October, when “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” will be shown. Prop bags will be provided, and the special screenings include a live shadow cast.
