The concert, which is free for all UB students with a valid student ID, will take place in the LaSalle Lot behind Alumni Arena – which holds a capacity of 9,000 people. 1,500 tickets will be sold to the general public for $20 per ticket. The concert will take place rain or shine. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in Alumni Arena, which holds 6,500 people. An additional 500 tickets will be available day of show if the concert remains outdoors.
Southern California’s Reel Big Fish is best known for energetic hits “Sell Out,” “Beer,” and their rendition of a-ha’s “Take on Me” – which was featured in the 1998 film BASEketball along with the band. Originally formed in 1991, the band has undergone several line-up changes and frontman Aaron Barrett remains the only founding member. Candy Coated Fury, Reel Big Fish’s seventh studio album, was released in July 2012. Reel Big Fish previously performed at UB during the 1999 Spring Fest, 2003 Spring Fest and 2007 Fall Fest.
