Avocados are rich in potassium, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, zinc and folate; a water soluble B vitamin that helps to prevent birth defects. They are also a great source of fiber and Monounsaturated fat which is the healthy HDL fat.
Avocados contain lutein, an antioxidant carotenoid, which is a pigmented nutrient found in many yellow colored fruits. Lutein aids in eye, heart and skin health.
Studies have shown that eating avocados will help to lower cholesterol counts and blood pressure.
