There are many ways to help and reduce your impact on the environment. A great way is by reducing, reusing, and recycling your plastic bags.
Reduce by refusing a bag at the check out. Use reusable fabric grocery bags. Most , if not all of our local grocery stores (i.e. Meijer, Kroger, Wal-Mart, etc) offer reusable grocery bags at a reasonable price. This also reduces costs for stores and ultimately you see the savings when they lowers prices on goods.
Reuse your grocery bags by using them as trash can liners. They can also be used in crafts. Crocheters can strip them and make reusable totes out of them. When your kids paint they can be used as a barrier for mess. Think of all of the possibilities for this one little bag.
Did you know that plastics bags are 100% recyclable? They can be made into many other goods you use today. They are made into grocery carts, fencing, decking, and construction materials. Recycle your bags by collecting them and dropping them off at your local grocery store (Meijer and Wal-Mart). To see a full list go to http://www.plasticbagrecycling.org/01.0/.
Collect those bags and drop them off today.
