It was a three-day weekend of family fun, live entertainment, craft beers, wines and succulent lobster dinner packages — including an Angus Steak dinner package and a 'Surf-N-Turf' Dinner package .
Not quite your typical lobster festival faire since the 'Surf-N-Turf'—'Angus Steak' was a surprise for many first-timers at the Redondo Beach Lobster Festival.
As the smoke of sweet-savory Angus steak on the grill filled the air at the Seaside Lagoon, it offered a bit of something extra special to go along with your mouth-watering lobster. A feast many were happy to pay a little extra for and enjoy.
And as Redondo Beach finished off its 18th annual Lobster Festival on Sunday, September 22nd with live band entertainment from 'Allensworth', 'Big Sams Funky Nation', and the 'Untouchables' — it was the popular 80s band 'The Fixx' that ended the celebration with songs such as 'One Thing Leads to Another', 'Saved by Zero', 'Red Skies At Night' and 'Stand or Fall' — bringing back a bit of nostalgia for many festival-goers.
The band members may be a bit older now, yet they delivered a wonderful performance. Cy Curnin, lead singer of The Fixx sang brilliantly with a voice that hasn't changed over the years as the crowd sang and danced to familiar tunes along with some of their newer songs.
Special thanks to all the hard-working volunteers that helped make the festival enjoyable.
