America did what it does best today having blasted a convoy of ISIL (Islamic State) assets from the road near Erbil, Iraq. As reported earlier, President Obama authorized airstrikes in support of Kurds combating insurgents in Northern Iraq. The purpose includes providing supplies for and protecting defenseless Yezidi Kurds who are stranded in mountains without food and water.
Who is providing financial support to the Islamic State?
Russian Television says that U.S. allies fund the Islamic State.

“US adds Nusrah, Islamic State financiers to list of global terrorists
By BILL ROGGIO August 6, 2014 11:07 AM
The US Treasury Department today added three "key terrorist financiers" to its list of Specially Global Terrorists; two of them support the Al Nusrah Front and the other is an Islamic State financier/facilitator. All three terrorists are linked to Kuwait.
The two Al Nusrah Front financiers/facilitators, Shafi Sultan Mohammed al-Ajmi and Hajjaj Fahd Hajjaj Muhammad Sahib al-'Ajmi, "are Kuwait-based," Treasury stated. The Islamic State financier/facilitator, 'Abd al-Rahman Khalaf 'Ubayd Juday' al-'Anizi, has been involved with al Qaeda since 2008, transfers funds from Kuwait to Syria, has helped move fighters from Kuwait to Afghanistan, and has worked with "Iran-based al Qaeda facilitators."”
That corroborates the Russian story that people from American allied nations are supporting the Islamic State. It is a web of conflicting interests that parallels conflicting factions throughout the Middle East that begins with conflict within the Islamic community and expands to include various ethnic and tribal groups.
“US allies cultivated Islamic State. Now IS plans to 'raise flag of Allah in White House'
Published time: August 08, 2014 16:03
As the Islamic State tears through minority communities in northern Iraq, the extremist terror group, that owes its ascendance to funding from US allies in the Middle East, sent a message to the White House: We’re coming for you.
“I say to America that the Islamic Caliphate has been established,” Abu Mosa, a spokesman for the Islamic State (IS), formerly know as the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), told VICE Media. “Don’t be cowards and attack us with drones. Instead send your soldiers, the ones we humiliated in Iraq."”
So what is the point? The circumstances underscore why America needs a comprehensive foreign policy for the Middle East for all to understand. It is not something that should be developed on the fly in a sandbox in Egypt as Secretary of State Kerry seems to suggest by trying to expand the Gaza-Israel negotiations into something “broad and grand”. President Obama and Secretary Kerry and the Senior Congressional Representatives need to convene an emergency foreign policy summit at the White House to work this out. Now, it is all over the place, disjointed and extremely dangerous. It is why the Russians are sniping on the sidelines through their media voice.
“Statement by Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Admiral John Kirby:
The U.S. military continued to attack ISIL targets near Erbil today conducting two additional air strikes to help defend the city where U.S. personnel are assisting the Government of Iraq.
Shortly after 10 a.m. EDT, remotely piloted aircraft struck a terrorist mortar position. When ISIL fighters returned to the site moments later, the terrorists were attacked again and successfully eliminated.
At approximately 11:20 a.m. EDT, four F/A-18 aircraft successfully struck a stationary ISIL convoy of seven vehicles and a mortar position near Erbil. The aircraft executed two planned passes. On both runs, each aircraft dropped one laser guided bomb making a total of eight bombs dropped on target neutralizing the mortar and convoy.”
