Get ready for a flavor experience you'll never forget. These brownies are incredibly rich, but the tartness that the cranberries bring add an extra dimension that cuts through the sweetness. And wine. Who doesn't love the wine and chocolate combination?


For the Brownies

1/4 cup red wine (I used Cabernet Sauvignon)

4 ounces semi sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup unsalted butter

2 eggs

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup all purpose flour

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup dried cranberries

For the Wine Glaze

2 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

2 tablespoons red wine

1 teaspoon confectioner's sugar


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

In a small pot over low heat, melt the butter and chocolate together until smooth.

Add the wine and whisk until fully incorporated and remove the pot from the heat.

Add the eggs and whisk to combine.

Add the sugar until well mixed.

Add the flour and cocoa powder and stir until smooth.

Fold in the cranberries

Transfer the batter into an 8x8 inch tin foil lined baking pan that has been greased and place it into the oven for 25 minutes.

While the brownies are baking, melt together the semi sweet chocolate and butter for the glaze. Once melted, whisk in the wine and sugar and set aside.

When the brownies are done, let them cool.

Once cooled, drizzle the glaze over the brownies.
