San Francisco world travelers should know that, as of September 28th, 2013, the public can explore the new Red Star Line Museum in the historic warehouses of the shipping company in Antwerp, Belgium.

The museum itself has a special link with the City of New York. Bet you didn't know that!

It actually mirrors the Ellis Island story, bringing to life the amazing journey of more than two million people who emigrated via Antwerp to New York – amongst them iconic Red Star Line passengers such as Irving Berlin and Albert Einstein, as well as many lesser-known, future American citizens.

Furthermore, world travelers will be interested to know that the Red Star Line warehouses were restored by none less than Beyer Blinder Belle Architects & Planners, the esteemed architectural firm behind the renovation and preservation of the historic Ellis Island.

The Tourist Office for Flanders-Brussels has now launched a campaign in the US to promote the Red Star Line Museum. The museum is definitely something all world travelers should be sure to check out. It will make for a fascinating visit on your next trip for business or pleasure.
