This weekend kicks off the three day festivities of Inauguration, which culminates Monday with the 57th Inauguration Swear-In Ceremony of President Barack Obama on Monday, January 21, 2013, on the steps of the Unites States Capitol. This entire week will be filled with events, but as a native Washingtonian, I know the importance of finding an event with value, reasonable prices, a swanky atmosphere, a familial feeling among company (even if they are strangers when you walk through the door), and what is probably most important on a Washington weekend that will hold people from around the world, metro accessibility, as parking is already limited in our fair city. For those reasons, among others,the Red Room Brunch, Inauguration Edition, is the premier Sunday Event to attend this Inauguration weekend. The brunch, sponsored by Ciroc and presented by homegrown Public Relations Maven Candice Nicole and business partner/Entrepreneur Tommie Collins, will be hosted at Tabaq Bistro from noon until 3 pm on January 20, 2013. Tabaq being one of my favorite places to eat on the historic U Street corridor, tasty treats and luscious libations will be a guaranteed hit. Also providing the hits will be a personal favorite, DJ MIM, and as an added touch, inauguration themed mini cupcakes will be provided by Kakewalk Cupcakes. In a city where the most important business contracts and connections are held with a pen in one hand, and a drink in the other, it is only fitting that everyone experience a DC Sunday like a native Washingtonian, and in D.C., brunch isn't a meal, it is a verb. We do brunch. Another reason why this event is a perfect one to patronize? There will be an abundance of people profiting from this weekend and then leaving, never to be seen or heard from again. At the Red Room Brunch, which also successfully hosted a toy drive brunch last month, everyone lives, works, and gives to this area, from the vendors to the hosts. Why not support our local businesses, where accountability and service is not just a must, it is a way of life.
The brunch is a pre fixe menu for $25 (tax & gratuity included) with 2 cocktails (Mimosa or Bellini). The menu consists of the following:
