Red Carpet Trends: Effortless Up-do’s at The 40th Annual People's Choice Awards

Awards season has official begun with a stylish start. All eyes were on the fashionable ladies (and gents!) of the night and each stylish attendee featured looks more stunning than the next. While there were many notable looks on the red carpet, many starlets chose to sport a more relaxed glam look for tonight’s festivities. Effortless and textured up-do’s were seen throughout and I’ve rounded up the best up-do’s of the evening.

Sarah Michelle Gellar
My favorite of the night, Sarah’s voluminous, messy up-do wonderfully complimented her chic black and white Sachin + Babi Spring 2014 dress. Pulling hair up and away in a fuller look drew attention to her luxurious brown smoky eye and fresh faced beauty look.

Lucy Hale
Lucy’s elegant yet graceful up-do appropriately fit the young star’s style. A low, messy and modern bun was framed by loose waves parted in the middle. While a pulled back hairstyle may sometimes read too mature, the textured and unforced style made it more fresh and current.

Anna Faris
Anna makes the ponytail glamorous and chic once again. Brow-grazing fringe bangs and face-framing wisps highlighted her texturized ponytail. While the look still looked polished, a slightly backcombed crown made the otherwise simple style a bit more glam.

Allison Williams
GIRLS star, Allison Williams glimmered on the red carpet in a polished low ponytail. Known for her luxurious brunette locks, Allison chose to go for a sophisticated side parted, low style to set off her rich purple and cream dress. For an unexpected touch, long, dramatic side swept bangs framed the look.
