Red carpet photos from the 2010 Academy Awards. The 82nd annual Academy Awards (Oscars) are Sunday, March 7, 2010. The life show began at 5 pm pacific time with the red carpet show from Los Angeles.
Barbara Walters performed her final special Sunday with interviews with Mo'Nique and Sandra Bullock, both up for best actress awards this year. The Barbara Walters special aired on the east coast before the Oscars, and will be aired on the west coast after the awards.

The Best Picture nominations include: Avatar, A Serious Man, An Education, Blind Side, The Hurt Locker, District 9, Up, Up in the Air, Inglorious Basterds and Precious. Many people expect the Hurt Locker to win this award. But one of the producers of the Hurt Locker may have hurt those chances, and his attendance has been banned by the Academy. Here are just a few actors and actresses nominated this year for an Oscar: Jeff Bridges, Morgan Freeman, George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Sandra Bullock and Matt Damon. Jeff Bridges is the favorite for Best Actor, and Sandra Bullock for Best Actress.
Precious is up for a 2010 Academy Award for Best Picture. Precious premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Precious won the audience award and grand jury prize at Sundance.
