Aside from being known as music’s biggest night, the Grammys are also known for over-the-top entrances and extravagant ensembles. Tonight, the red carpet was booming with wild hairdos and one-of-a-kind getups that surprised us all, and for some, not in a good way.
Fergie stepped out onto the red carpet in a sheer coral gown by Jean Paul Gaultier with black undergarments peeping through. She told Ryan Seacrest it was one of the “safer” choices. Her Walter Steiger pumps and Niel Lane jewels completed the fierce, sleek look that only Fergie could pull off. Fergalicious!
It’s no secret that Katy Perry’s favourite colour is blue. Not only is her hair turquoise blue, the Elie Saab gown she wore tonight was of a similar shade. A little too matchy-matchy, don't you think? Was someone feeling blue on the red carpet?
Fashion must-see look of the night: Nicki Minaj. She’s always been one to stand out on the red carpet, and this time she brought along a Pope look-a-like, perhaps taking religious symbolism to a whole new level. In honour of performing her new single, "Roman Holiday," Minaj herself dressed as a Cardinal in a red custom Versace cape and hood, although everyone mistook her for Little Red Riding Hood at first. The witty and outrageous Minaj never fails to own her title as the "Queen of Hip-Hop."
