The Red Bull Rampage is back again this year for the 2013 mountain bike freeride event held in Virgin, Utah. The world’s best mountain bikers will return on October 11-13, 2013 to compete in the most daunting event in freeride mountain biking to prove their skill, fearlessness and ability to master the legendary terrain in Utah.

It’s been almost a decade since the Red Bull Rampage was held in consecutive years, and last year a higher ridgeline was used as the start gate for the finals. New lines and a world of new possibilities were unearthed last year as well, and this year riders have yet to see if there will be bigger canyons, deeper descents, and new lift offs to flip and spin on to showcase their boundless drive for progression.

The athletes that have pre-qualified to the finals include: Andreu Lacondeguy, Antoine Bizet, Brandon Semenuk, Cam Zink, Cam McCaul, James Doerfling, Kurt Sorge, Tyler McCaul, Logan Binggeli, Wil White, Thomas Vanderham, Geoff Gulevich, Kyle Norbraten, and Kyle Strait. Unfortunately for Kurt Sorge, the winner of last year’s Red Bull Rampage, an injury will be keeping him out from competing this year.

Darren Barrecloth, Garett Buehler, Gee Atherton, Nicola Pescetto, Stevie Smith, Mike Hopkins, Anthony Messere, Kelly McGarry, and Graham Agassiz are among several qualifiers that were invited to the 2013 Red Bull Rampage. The 27 participants for the qualifiers, taking place on Friday, October 11, were selected based off FMB Tour ranking, performance at key events such as Crankworx and the Bearclaw Invitational, and proven mountain riding ability. Twelve will move onto the finals.

A limited number of tickets will be available for spectators to see the event in person. Tickets are $20 and expected to sell out. Keep in mind that there is a 5-mile hike/ride to the contest site and no food/drink is available for purchase on-site.

An enhanced live webcast of the finals will be shown on Sunday, October 13 at www.redbull.com/rampage.

If you can’t make it to the event in person and manage to miss the live webcast, the Red Bull Rampage will air as part of the Red Bull Signature Series on NBC on December 21, 2013. The broadcast begins at 2:30 p.m. ET and will be presented by Casio G’zOne Commando 4G LTE.

The Red Bull Rampage is an event you don’t want to miss if you’re an adrenaline junkie. Find out what’s in store for the riders this year by catching the Rampage in person or watching it in on the big screen.

Tickets are available at https://rampage.eventbrite.com/.
