Red Bull, has a way of keeping music alive through innovative concepts like The Red Bull Music Academy. Added to that list of innovation is Red Bull’s Thre3style Competition.
Red Bull Thre3style is a DJ contest where participating DJs will be judged based on how well they rock a crowd. The judges will look at crowd reaction, and technique. Each DJ gets 15 minutes and has to incorporate three different genres within their set.
This year, the Thre3style contest will be held in San Francisco on January 24th. The event, which will be held at The Independent located at 628 Divisadero ST, will feature judges Shortkut, Nate Mezmer, and DJ Platurn. Competing for their chance to win bragging rights are DJ’s Espinosa, Dstrukt, D-Sharp, Richie Panic and Mei-Lwun. The winner selected from the San Francisco qualifier will move to the West Regional Final in Seattle February 25th. At that time, only one DJ will go on to compete nationally in Los Angeles this Spring.
If you are interested in attending The Red Bull Thre3style contest, you must be 21+. The contest starts at 8PM on January 24th and entrance is first come for serve as the event is subject to capacity.
