Recycled Trends

There are so many predictable and fun things about fashion, but my favorite would have to be that trends come and go over and over (and over). This is so much fun for generations! Growing up, my mom and I used to laugh together because she would see a trend that she wore when she was younger and would be kicking herself for not saving her stuff for me! I have made a promise to myself to always save items from certain trends for when my daughter grows up. I love watching these trends come in and out because they take us back to a time and place. For instance, bell bottoms are famous for coming and going. When I was about 10 years old, I remember getting ready for school and wearing a pair of bell bottoms and my mom looked at me with shock! She could not believe they had come back.
This spring is full of fun, fresh, and recycled trends. One of my absolute favorites, meaning I could wear it EVERY DAY, is the neon! This can be worn in the smallest or largest amount and looks fabulous either way. I know not everyone is in love with these trends that continue to make an appearance, but I think that it is fun to try new things, even in the smallest dosage. Just remember, when a trend returns, it is not about buying the first thing you see!! Find something you love! Even if it is just a scarf, necklace, bracelet, etc.
Another trend we are seeing is the 80’s rocker trend with the ripped jeans and metal and studding on clothing. Personally, this is not a trend I gravitate towards, but I do rock the ripped, distressed jeans quite often. They are perfect for a casual day.
We just need to remember not to take ourselves too seriously and to have fun! If you do not care for a trend, that is OK! Just note that it will be back.
