When you get out of an operation, it is important to properly recover. Give your body time to rest and heal. When you are sleeping, your body is taking that time to heal which is good for your body. Keep the bandages on for the length of time advised by the Nurse or Doctor.
If you are nervous about changing the bandages, take them to a walk in clinic and just explain that you had an operation and you are not sure how you should change the bandages. They will be of great help and will understand how you feel.
Do not walk too much during the first week of your recovery. Do not keep your body in one position all the time because you want your body to heal properly. Sleep comfortably in different positions to let the body heal in different positions, and let the skin get used to being in different positions, maintaining the flexibility of your skin.
Listen to your Doctor about the healing process and be sure to book a follow up appointment with your Doctor as well.
