The 2nd Annual Record Store Day is April 18. And although Milwaukee is tragically without local record store staple, the now-defunct Atomic Records, the festivities go on this Saturday at record stores across the state.
Many bands, including Wilco, My Morning Jacket, Modest Mouse, Flight of the Conchords and many, many more will have exclusive releases for Record Store Day and most of the participating stores are offering discount-priced CDs, LPs and EPs. There will be events in Oshkosh, Appleton, Madison as well as a few locations in the Milwaukee area.
The largest event will take place at - say it with me - The Exclusive Company's East Side location on Farwell (map), with other events taking place at The Exclusive Company's Greenfield location (map) and Rush-Mor Records in Bayview (map).
The East Side Exclusive Company will host 15 bands throughout the course of the day, and the Greenfield location will host 10 more. Rush-Mor Records is encouraging a Bayview bar crawl, according to Decider: Milwaukee.
