Cats have records: I've seen cats with records or playing records more accurately. Have you seen those cool disco cats gettin' hip and spinning those old discs backward. There are cats in the news this weekend. The cats and the dogs could be seen (September 28-29, 2013) at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City at an event called "Meet the Breeds.' It was sponsored by the American Kennel Club.
Anything you could want to know about all dog and cat breeds recognized by the AKC you could find out there this weekend. In the spirit of helping people have more insights into their pet's behavior there were a bunch--dozens--of cat and dog experts ready to answer questions about nutrition, exercise, health and training.
Uniquely decorated booths were set up (210 of them) where attendees could pick up dogs and cats (and puppies and kittens) while experts tell them about the particular breed. Many dogs could be seen chasing frisbees and doing (simulated) hunting tasks. Frisbee chasing is a skill as you know and so is retrieving of birds.
In a related story a new cat has been recognized as having the longest hair in the world (for a cat that is.) The attached video tells the story of a cat with nine-inch-long hair. My hair is shorter than hat. The cat is, of course, a Persian.
Sometimes it's cats and sometimes it's dogs. This weekend it was both.
