With live theatre performances not much more or even less than movie ticket prices, it really is the best bang for the buck for your entertainment to watch live shows and support local artists, especially when it's more ideal to watch many films on DVD or streaming live on NetFlix or other services as there are special features like deleted scenes or interviews or documentaries of these films.These are the recommended shows to see tonight and tomorrow:
- Seussical the Musical at the Berkeley Playhouse: There are still great seats to be had this weekend for this show based on Dr. Seuss’ wonderful books and characters, including the Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, the Grinch, and dozens of others. - My Fair Lady at Oakland’s Woodminster Amphitheater: Opening this weekend is one of Broadway’s all time musical favorites & one of Lerner and Loewe’s masterpieces. It features last year’s stars of Woodminster Summer Musicals' The Music Man, Susan Himes Powers as Eliza Doolittle, Robert Moorhead as Henry Higgins, and Rockridge Safeway’s own Greg Carlson as Alfred P.
