The season of BBQ is finally upon us and for the people who love to make beer at home or the people that are just starting to make their own beer at home and are searching for some great summer recipes.

Here are a couple to get you started:

American IPA

Ingredients

  • 1 lb - Caramel Malt
  • 4 lbs - Extra Light Dry Extract
  • 4 lbs - Pale Liquid Extract
  • 1 oz - Columbus Hops (boiled at 60 min)
  • 1 oz- Northern Brewer Hops (boiled at 45 min)
  • 1/2 oz - Cascade Hops (boiled at 30 min)
  • 1/ 2 oz- Cascade Hops (boiled at 15 min)
  • 1/2 tsp - Irish Moss (boiled at 10 min)
  • 1 pkg - American Ale yeast
  • 1 oz - Cascade Leaf Hops

Beer Profile for the American IPA

  • ABV - 6.5%
  • IBU - 31
  • Yield - 5 gallons

Habanero Pale Ale (This recipe is good for the beginning brewer)
Ingredients

  • 4oz - 60 L American crystal Malt
  • 7lbs - light DME (Dry Malt Extract)
  • 4oz- Malt dextrin
  • 1oz- Nugget Hops
  • 1/2 oz - Perle Hops
  • 1 - Whrilfloc Table
  • 1 oz. - Cascade Hops
  • 1 pkg - Wyeast 1056 American Ale yeast
  • 5 - Dried Habanero peppers
  • 3/4 - priming sugar

Beer Profile for the Habanero Pale Ale

  • Yield- 5 gallons
