Recipe of the Week: Heartland Cider

This recipe is perfect for warming up on a cold day.

1 gallon apple cider

1 cup apple butter

4 cinnamon sticks

1 teaspoon cloves

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon allspice

1 teaspoon nutmeg

Heat apple cider, but do not boil—boiling will cause the taste to be too strong! Add the apple butter, mixing well. Let heat 5 minutes. Add spices, continue stirring. Heat for 5 more minutes. Remove cinnamon sticks. Serve hot.
