Recipe for pan-frying a New York strip steak

This is absolutely my favorite way to cook a steak, because it reminds me of my dad! He took pride in cooking steak in a pan and it was always delicious! One truly needs a cast iron grill pan with a ribbed base to medium high for fifteen minutes. Cook one’ steak, flipping it once, until it is done to one’s liking. If one is using a cut which is thicker than an inch, one might want to bake it at 400 degrees F, instead for four to five minutes. Leave the finished steak to rest for five minutes letting the juices redistribute. If one cuts into the meat, immediately the juices will run out and the meat will be dry.
