On Oct. 23, a senior pit bull, named "Nico," disappeared from his home in Shawangunk, N.Y.
The nine-year-old dog is a death row survivor, who was recently rescued and relocated to his Peaceable Hill Road.
Not only is the handsome senior in an area which is not familiar to him, but he is partially blind - facts which are of grave concern to everyone who is searching for him.
According to Nico's guardian, Jenny Hershberger, there have been no sightings of the lost dog.
She, and other good Samaritans, have been putting forth a huge search effort; Hershberger stated:
We have papered the immediate yet vast area with flyers, knocked on doors, combed the woods on foot with several volunteers, put out a pet amber alert, and using the services of a tracking dog. All vet offices, humane/rescue societies, dog wardens, state and local PD are aware he is missing.
Though Nico has not been spotted, Hershberger, and others involved in the search effort, are hopeful that he will be found.

Note: Nico is described as "very friendly." He weighs approximately 50 lbs.
