Recap: the episode starts where the last one ended – Azusa collapses from a mysterious illness. He’s taken to the hospital, where the drugs he’s given for treatment keeps him out for the night. Ema calls Natsume to let him know about Azuna, who remarks that he had not heard at all from Tsubaki.
Ema talks with Tsubaki in the living room, where he expresses regret about Azusa’s condition, and admits that he thinks work and his feelings for Ema have been driving him crazy. He expresses regret over his recent actions, and said that he doesn’t want to hurt Ema.
That night Tsubaki has multiple nightmares, ranging from Azusa losing his job to Azusa dying to Ema telling him that she didn’t love him. He finally wakes up when Natsume shows up in his room and tells him he was worried about him.
When Ema visits Azusa in the hospital, he tells her that he was diagnosed with meningitis. He asks Ema about her feelings for Tsubaki, which she admits are more along the lines of brotherly, and thanks Azusa for stepping in the previous night. Azusa says that he wasn’t really helping, but had truly interfered, admitting that he, too, had feelings for her, and noting that several of the brothers felt the same.
After Ema and Yasuke get Azusa’s viewing list, Ema takes the mangas to the hospital, where Tsubaki is now visiting with Azusa, apologizing for his recent actions. At this time, we also find out that Tsubaki replaced Azusa in the anime.
Ema visits Azusa again, where they talk about Tsubaki’s recent job. Azusa tells her that he’s not going to lose to Tsubaki, and that he loves her more than any of the other brothers. He tells her that he doesn’t want an answer right away, but wants her to think about it.
The episode ends with Ema going to pick up a copy of her family record for her passport, and making a shocking discovery that will be revealed in the next episode.
Review: Probably a little too serious for me. I like the fact that Louis was back for this episode, if only briefly. The recap this week is more of a summary for this episode, since there were so many little side conversations going on that didn’t really advance the plot any. And one conversation that did didn’t pay off until the very end of the episode. Could have been a little tighter this week. Next week: What did Ema discover? Will more brothers confess their love?
