Recap: A timed experience from 1840s Plaza Winter Bridal Open House in Baltimore (Photos)

On Tuesday the 16th of February in 2013, 1840s Plaza hosted an exclusive celebration for their Winter Bridal Open House in historic Jonestown's of Baltimore. It was an grand bridal show for the beginning of the spring weddings ahead. Who knew such a well-kept traditional venue house could hold so much creative possibility. During their open house 1840s Plaza turned into a one stop shop for everything bridal bliss from floral arrangements, photographers, music DJs, printing specialists, make-up & hair artists, caterers and weddings planners. Talk about the girl next door having her dreams come true!

The celebration took place from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. serving heavy hors d'oeuvres and cocktails. The hospitality was flowing from every corner of the building. The introduction started with a Cinderella style carriage provided by Bee Tree Trail welcoming attendees to the grand Plaza of 1840s. The event took place on three floors at 1840s Plaza; each floor has something great to offer and the higher you went the great the offerings. The first floor started with check-in from Wedding 411 On Demand which was a great experience because they collected information from brides in attendance to put in a database so they can have access to tons of helpful vendor information.

The four key elements that bring any party to life are music, décor, people and food & spirits. My memorable moments from the first floor include: The fancy fruit infused water bar provided by Rouge Fine Catering. Next, let tell you Touch the Sky Entertainment had the second jumping featuring DJ Z. Thirdly, was the talented Nicholas Griner from Nicholas Griner Photography displaying professional examples of his skillset which where amazing because his work captured people and places in togetherness. If you can look at a photo and feel like you’re in that moment that talent. Lastly, Scentsy by Tracy Carter was a very informative meet & greet. I had never heard of Scentry until that day and there unique goods are worthy of further gift giving consideration.

The second floor recaps: The sweetest addition to any special occasion should include Sweet & Cool which is a catering company that does ice cream socials for corporate and social events in the D.C. metropolitan area. Sweet & Cool was serving up some ice cream and it was yummy talk about a show stopper for uniqueness. They were stationed in a timeless candy store/diner private room at 1840s Plaza which took me down memory lane to the movie scenery of It’s a Wonderful Life. I know you guys remember the look of the candy store that George worked in as a kid. The décor from Select Event throughout the building was fabulous nevertheless, the second floor was drapped so wonderfully elegant with a theme color of a rich emerald green. Rouge Fine Catering provided a grilled vegetable food buffet that housed healthy and delicious treats, passed unique hors d'oeuvres and a soft drink bar for non-alcoholic beverages. Sugar Bakers had some yummy fancy cake samples as well cakes on display which were blinged out with jewels if that’s you taste super fancy.

The third floor was breathtaking and Drew Vanlandingham from The Vanlandingham Design Studio worked his magic by decorating, organizing and transforming the interior of the 1840s Fava Building into a sophisticated, elegant and awe-inspiring venue. The first thing you saw once you got off the elevator onto the top floor of the event; was a sophisticated wedding gown from Francesca's Bridal surrounded by glittered shoes and accessories. Two additional bridesmaid’s gowns stood tall as table tops for all to take-in and they were breath-taking. Next, was an open bar with spirits flowing for all to experience? Linwoods Catering had this floor in luxury dining mode with in-house chefs with white top hats cooking hors d'oeuvres mixed with food such as grilled salmon, shrimp and beef. Oh, did I mention Smyth Jeweler's was giving away gift bags full of surprises and they were pretty nice, I might add. Smyth had beautiful engagement, wedding and gift giving jewelry on display which included Baltimore Ravens memorabilia for women and men. Although, I may have missed mentioning all the wonderful things that 1840s Plaza Winter Bridal Open House had too offer it was a experience you had to see for yourself.
