Baby Jogger car seat adaptors, commonly used to secure a variety of infant car seats to Baby Jogger strollers, have been recalled by the CPSC. With 47 reported incidents of the adaptor support bars malfunctioning, all of which resulted in infants crashing to the ground, consumers are warned to stop using the faulty product. Included in the 47 incidents received by the manufacturer were 2 reports of injured infants with bruising to the head and toes.
The recalled adaptors fit Single, Double or Select/Versa strollers and include the model numbers BJ90121, BJ90221, and BJ9032. The model numbers are located on the lower right hand corner of the original package and also include the manufacturing dates April 1, 2012 to September 20, 2012 on the bottom of the package.
If you tossed out the original packaging, check the black support bars for the labels A or B; the A bar is the larger of the two. The recalled adaptor contains a plastic tip with 10 holes on the A support bar. Adaptors with only 4 holes on the A support bar are not included in the recall.
