Recall: Kraft Singles American Cheese Slices

See also

If you've recently purchased packages of Kraft cheese, you should head to the fridge and start inspecting.

Kraft issued a voluntarily recall of over 7,500 cases (7,691 to be exact) of regular American cheese because they discovered that one of their suppliers didn't store a particular ingredient up to their temperature standards and it could cause the product to spoil early, which in turn could cause sickness. The cheese was produced at their Springfield, MO facility, and was shipped within the United States and not internationally.

Only Kraft American Singles were affected, and include:

  • 12 oz Kraft American Singles (16 slices)
  • 16 oz Kraft American Singles (24 slices; 36 count case)
  • 16 oz Kraft American Singles (24 slices; 12 count case)
  • 4 pound Kraft American Singles (64oz; 4x24 slice)

The Best When Used By dates would read either February 20, 2015, or February 21, 2015. If you have one of the aforementioned products, check here for a full run down on package codes and case codes.

Kraft is advising that if you have one of the affected products to make sure not to eat it, and instead to return it to the store to get an exchange or refund or call 1-800-396-5512. They've stated that there have been no reports of anyone getting sick from one of the affected products, and what they're doing is simply a precaution. Well at least you can say they're diligent.
