Recall info for providers and parents: Graco Harmony high chairs

A very important recall announced today from Graco for their Harmony line of high chairs. This is important not only for parents who use these high chairs, but also for child care providers who are using them on a daily basis.

The issue with the high chairs  is that they break, causing the infant to fall. Graco's website states: "The highchair can collapse if it is not fully opened and locked into place from the storage position prior to use. If the highchair collapses, a child occupying the highchair can be injured." If the child falls the wrong way, they could get a serious head injury. It's possible that the wrong conditions could cause this type of accident to be fatal.

If  you own one of these high chairs, stop using it and contact Graco. Graco is offering free repair kits that they will send you through the mail. These kits will allow you to fix the chair's malfunction, making it safe to use once again.

Graco says there are over 100,000 units affected by this recall.

The Denver Post has a forum focused primarily on product recalls for baby products. To see their list for February 2010 you can go here.
