Palm Springs area parents, have you shopped at Build-A-Bear Workshop recently? Build-A-Bear Workshop has issued a voluntary recall on one of their stuffed animal toys due to a potential choking hazard.
The product at the center of the recall is the delightful Monster's Inc. Sulley character stuffed toy. There are concerns that the eye may detach from the stuffed animal and pose a choking risk to small children.
The product, manufactured in China, should be returned to any Build-A-Bear Workshop. In exchange, the company will issue a store coupon good for the purchase of any other stuffed animal sold by Build-A-Bear Workshop.
The stuffed animal was sold at company retail locations and online in June 2013. There were 25,000 units sold in the United States and 1,100 in Canada.
There is a tracking label sewn into the leg of the Sulley toy with numbers ending in 4384 for the United States and 4385 for Canada.
Although there have been no known incidents reported, the company has decided to issue the voluntary recall to consumers.
Build-A-Bear Workshop can be contacted by phone Monday through Friday between 8AM CST and 8PM CST at 1-866-236-5683. Consumers can also reach out to the company via email at ProductHotline@buildabear.com
The nearest Build-A-Bear Workshop to Palm Springs is at The Galleria at Tyler in Riverside.
