Polished meets casual tom boy summarize the theme of Rebecca Minkoff's fall 2014 collection, presented at Lincoln Center at Mercedes - Benz Fashion Week. Minkoff's signature modern and edgy style is still the core of the collection, but for Fall 2014, the designer opted for simpler, more understated approach to dressing.

The pieces are inspired by menswear style. There are tailored Crombie coats, masculine trousers and the sharp button downs. The color palette ranges from soft grey to pale pink to navy green and tobacco brown.

Playing with proportions and weight, Minkoff layers light pieces with structured jackets, flowy skirts with long overcoats and accessories. There are plaid and pinstripes as well as metallic lame pants.

As we have seen in past too, Minkoff's Fall 2014 show also had live music ( this year the music was by AlunaGeorge) that lent even more energy to an already sharp collection.
