Reba McEntire will oversee Celebs on Facebook page at ACM's digital press event

Per a Jan. 25 update from the Academy of Country Music, 2012 ACM Awards co-host Reba McEntire will serve as the guest host Thursday, Jan. 26, for the Celebs on Facebook page during the first-ever ACM digital press conference.

Presented by the presented by the West Coast-based ACM, CBS Television and Dick Clark Productions, the digital press event will get under way bright and early Thursday--namely, at 6:30 a.m. (PST)--via www.facebook.com/AcademyOfCountryMusic and www.twitter.com/ACMawards.

Per the plan of event organizers, award nominations will be announced via the ACM social media channels, and McEntire will continue the interaction as she takes over the Celebs on Facebook page at www.facebook.com/celebs

Word has it that nearly 4 million fans of the Celebs on Facebook page, as well as any visitors to the page, will be able to watch the red-tressed country superstar simultaneously update as the Academy of Country Music posts the nominations starting at the aforementioned 6:30 a.m. Jan. 26.

Additionally, surprise VIP guests will join in to help reveal ACM Award nominees via videos posted in real time by the ACM to its Facebook page and by McEntire to the Celebs on Facebook page. The press conference will culminate with a video post of country-music fans announcing the nominees for Entertainer of the Year.

The 47th Annual ACM Awards, which will again feature free concerts prior to the main event, will be held April 1 and broadcast live from Las Vegas. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
