Reality TV group builds an electric car in two days

While the reality of reality TV can always be questionable, especially if you've been watching Discovery Channels apocalyptic show, The Colony, they did do something amusing and a bit amazing.  From spare parts, they built a functional electric car.  Using a bank of car batteries wired in parallel fueled by two solar panels arranged around a basic frame with a small electric motor, a variable voltage control, and some car tires.

If a handy man, a few engineers, and others can come together and turn warehouse parts into an electric vehicle, it makes you wonder why it's taking so long for the car companies to put one on the road, doesn't it?

Watch the episode where they decide to build it, they build it, and drive about with it on Discovery Channels own website here
